Acapulco Chair

Acapulco chairs are a modern classic that originated in Mexico during the 1950s. They are inspired by Mayan weaving technique. Each chair are individually hand crafted. You can see the process below.

They have a wide range of color choices where you can combine not just two colors but also three colors!

California Design 1930-1965 @ LACMA

I was recently notified about a current exhibition from LACMA called “California Design: 1930-1965” which has started from October 1, 2011 but will continue til March 25, 2012. The exhibition is a great collection of mid-century work that includes over 300 objects that ranges from furniture, graphic designs, fashions, etc., It seems like the most extensive look into mid-century modern design and that era.

From what I see, the exhibition looks promising and I will get an update here after my visit.
