Michel Penneman: Interior Designer

I found Belgian interior designer Michel Penneman‘s website that has many inspiring images. I love how he can make Mid-Century furniture work in almost any kind of place. The use of poppy colors in contrast with the muted environment are nicely done.

You can see more of his work here! Have a wonderful weekend!

Google commemorates Alexander Calder’s 113th Birthday

Have you visited google’s top page today? According to the source, “Google on Friday paid tribute to American sculptor and artist Alexander Calder with one of its trademark Google Doodles. Today is Alexander Calder’s 113th birthday. Alexander Calder who was born on July 22, 1898 is the most famous for inventing the mobile sculptures. A mobile is a type of sculpture that uses the principle of equilibrium, with rods from which weighted objects or further rods hang.”

“He is renowned for the invention of the mobile, whose suspended, abstract elements move and balance in changing harmony. Calder also devoted himself to making outdoor sculpture on a grand scale from bolted sheet steel. Today, these stately titans grace public plazas in cities throughout the world”
