Black Swan: Limited Movie Poster

Maybe it’s because I don’t get out much but I usually don’t see good quality official released movie posters these days. La Boca, a London-based design studio made these very stunning and art deco inspired posters for the movie, Black Swan. Great movie by the way. I love the way they play with the lights and darks making it look graceful yet ominous at the same time.

The poster successfully brings strong impact by employing bold dual colors, simplified iconic motives and informative text in white. The Russian constuctivist inspired style connects with the movie’s style perfectly, and I also personally think the poster depicts the message of the movie very well. If you haven’t watched the movie yet, you must see it now.

Kathryn Tyler: Linea Studio

These beautiful rooms are from the house of Kathryn Tyler who runs an interior design consultancy called the Linea Studio in the UK. She mainly focuses on creating distinctive, high-quality contemporary spaces with an emphasis on bespoke fittings and graphic details. Her house took about 1.2 years to complete and it was featured on the UK TV show ‘Grand Designs’ last october. If you go to ‘CORKELLIS HOUSE’ on her website, you will see a great mixture of classic and contemporary design on her house from the outside as well.

The pictures above are from her project The Falmouth Townhouse Hotel. I love her selection of colors and vintage furniture that creates a cozy atmosphere in modern hotel rooms. The neutral palette accented with a dash of vibrant color are what my eyes are drawn towards.
