Vintage Apple Container

Three Potato Four is a selective vintage online store. As soon as I found out that this cute apple container was sold out, I started looking for something like this on ebay. It didn’t take me long until I found exactly the same apples that came with four different sizes.

Because they are made of aluminum and have been aged, some of them shows some belly button dimples. Nonetheless, I personally think the dimples are a charming feature on vintage items. They are located every corner of my place as a container for candies, sewing buttons, and some gadgets.

Scandinavian Dresser from The Vintage Collective

This dresser is the first Scandinavian furniture at my place. Right after I received my first paycheck from my new job, I was lucky to find this beautiful grained dresser that was on sale at an antique furniture store in Long Beach called, “The Vintage Collective.”
It was hard to go back home empty handed. The dresser could barely fit in my car, but it was successfully transferred from Long Beach to my bedroom. It’s been for a while since I bought this, but every time I see it, I still appreciate Scandinavian craftsmanship and how all the wood grains are perfectly lined up!
If you have any chance, I highly recommend to stop by the strip of East 4th Street in Long Beach. They have many vintage stores, but my favorite isĀ The Vintage Collective.

Eames Paper & Small DIY

As I said in my previous post about the Eames Paper sample book, I decided to frame some of my favorite pages to display on the Eames case study bookshelf. You can literally frame every page from this collection but these were the ones I thought would be nice to display.

This iconic image is gold foiled on a fabric textured blue paper. I love the color palette and the little bird.

Eames Paper Collection by Neenah Paper
A couple of years ago, one of my friends kindly gave me a sample paper book called ‘Eames Paper Collection’ by Neenah Paper. It is an amazing collaboration with the paper company and the Eames Office. The sample book was made with high quality with many beautiful pages that has nicely embossed and textured papers.
From Eames Paper Collection: ‘ A design materials collection inspired by the work and working philosophy of designers Charles and Ray Eames. Is it a breakthrough? Thank you, yes, both of philosophy and technology.’

The images above shows the great use of the Eames paper that I found from the DIY website, the new domestic. This makes me feel crafty and want to do things with this Eames sample book. Maybe I will try to create something over the weekend, so please stay tuned!

Modernica Pets on Furniture Contest

I might be a little late on this but Modernica is having a contest where you have to submit a photo of your pet on your furniture. This sounds like a great idea, I’ll definitely give it a try. The Grand prize is a rocker arm chair! As you can see, the competition is already stiff. Thanks for the tip Angela!
