World Globe Bank
Here are my vintage collection of globes and world globe banks. It’s interesting to see how the geography of the world was when these globes were made. Germany was still divided into east and west, Korea was one nation, and Africa was still ruled by France.
It’s still a mystery when the globe was made but from the geographic information, it’s most likely made before 1960.

Poul Cadovius : Danish Wall Unit
I will definitely install a Danish wall unit once I get a bigger place. This teak wood floating wall unit called “ROYAL SYSTEM” is designed by Poul Cadovius from the early sixties. I saw this on a Belgian online store, but sadly it’s already sold. They have beautiful photos of this wall unit.
It’s simply beautiful…….

Weekend Post : Polka Dot Tumbler
Polka dots are always my favorite patterns. These are vintage tumblers I found at a flea market. I simply just love the way the colorful dots are printed around the tumblers. Somehow it just feels very nostalgic.
They also remind me of the package of this classic Japanese uncarbonated soft drink. I used to drink this when I was a kid.

Curious Cat & Case Study Planter
Being a huge fan of Modernica, I was excited about their annual sale this past July. At the sale, I was specifically looking for this Case Study Ceramic Cylinder Planter. As soon as I entered the huge warehouse, I ran straight to it! The wooden support legs makes this simple planter a lot more playful. It’s a great accent in the dead corner of my living room.

It’s originally $149.00 but I got it for half price at $75. It was a great deal and suited my place perfectly. I can’t wait for their next sale. The planter comes in two sizes and two colors. You can also take a look at all the craze here : Youtube

Wooden Japanese Product : Goby Works
Goby Works is the company of one of my long time friend Sunao Jindo’s. He started the company in 2001 after quitting his day job. He is skilled in not only designing but also producing his products with his own hands. Above is an incent holder.
These are some example of of his work, where he offers a variety of products such as coasters, vases, and paper weight.
This is an award winning chair that he designed and produced. The chair is purposely designed low to suit the Japanese custom of sitting on the floor. I love his work but it’s a shame that you can only purchase them online in Japan. For those who are planning to visit japan here is his website: www.gobyworks.com
