Antti Nurmesniemi: Enamel Coffee Pot

These enamel coffee pots were designed in the late 50′s by Finnish designer Antti Nurmesniemi for Arabia made by Finel. It is an absolutely classic design but the auction prices for his pots are usually around $100-$200, which is little too much for me to pay.

The pot comes in two different sizes and colors which includes: red, yellow, brown, blue, dark blue, and white. These colors were selected by his wife Vuokko Eskolin.

Here are some very similar enamel coffee pots that the Japanese company ‘Noda’ manufactures. Everything from the design and proportion is identical except for the handle. Though it come with different colors, I would probably go with white. This adds to the list of items on my wish list for my trip next month.

Vintage Fireking: Glasbake Custard Cup

This is another part of my vintage fireking collection. They are a set of 4 glass bake milk-white custard cups. Each cup has a little orange and navy candle glow pattern that gives a nice accent on the white glass. I mostly use them for serving dessert, especially flan, my favorite.

The picture above is called ‘Blue Heaven’. These were originally produced by Royal China during the 50′s to 60′s. Although they are not fireking, they will be a good compliment to my collection.
