On the Eames office website, I found some cool cover designs of the Eames catalog dated back to the 50′s to 60′s. One of my favorite is the picture above because of the way they framed the chair. Although it’s graphic and cropped, it still reads and the use of negative space is also great.

Despite the Eames office being located very close to where I live, I keep forgetting to make a visit. I’ll probably give it a shot this weekend.

Berlin based photographer Matthias Heiderich takes quite beautiful pictures. I am totally in love with the way he makes his photos look simple and graphic with vibrant colors in dynamic compositions.

His color scheme somehow feels very vintage and I certainly love the framing.

Danish designer, Finn Juhl designed this gorgeous and unique sofa called Poeten for his own home in 1941. It is truly an art piece and was inspired by ‘free art’. I assume that the chair has a tall design because Finn Juhl might’ve been a tall person.

I’ve always been looking for a mid-century modern style chess set for either playing or displaying. I can see this minimal designed set sitting on my coffee table. I’m not a pro at chess by any means but I do enjoy playing. This modernist styled extruded aluminum chess set was designed by Austin E Cox for Austin Enterprises and manufactured by the Alcoa Aluminum Company.
