Flipping The House

One of my favorite blog from Japan was showcasing a renovation of a 26 year-old house. The classic tatami floored room is flipped to a bright modern kitchen! Poul Henningsen’s PH Kontrast lamp gives a nice accent on the ceiling.

Another tatami room turned into a danish living room.

This seems like the entrance of the house. I like how they kept the authenticity of the vintage feeling.

Modern Revival
I recently ran into this article where a couple from Portland totally restored a midcentury home by hand. From the furnitures to the tasteful selections of textures and color, I’d say that this is a wonderful accomplishment. I can imagine how much fun it was for them to work on something like this. Definitely on my dream to-do list.

Olive & Orange
I happened to find this beautiful house makeover on flickr. I love the way he painted the wall with olive and switched the door to orange. This is exactly what I want to do in the future.
