MCM Homes in Palo Alto

I had a short trip to Palo Alto over the weekend to attend my friend’s wedding party. Palo Alto is located in the northwest corner of Santa Clara County, in the San Francisco Bay Area of California and probably best known for headquarters of a number of Silicon Valley high-tech companies, such as Hewlett-Packard or Google. Although it’s located in a beautiful college town with a lots of green in the heart of Stanford University, what actually took my attention were these amazing mid-century houses everywhere. The pictures above are homes on just one street nearby my friend’s parents house where every single house was mid-century!!

The famous developer, Joseph Eichler built over 11,000 homes, largely in San Mateo and Santa Clara County where you can see some of them here. “Eichlers are quintessential Palo Alto. More Eichlers were built here than anywhere in the United States,
about a 2,700 out of a total 11,000, none more than in the Palo Verde neighborhood. They may be a bit odd, but Eichlers remain the pride of Palo Alto’s architectural history.”
