Interior Update: Bedroom Addition

bedroom_update01
Wow, time really flies! My apologies for a month of absence. Continuing from the last entry, my bedroom got some small additions that I want to share today. Because of architectural reasons, there is a weird indent on the right side of the corner in my bedroom where I used to put my tomado shelves. I’ve been trying to figure out the best solution to fill this dead corner for a while and I finally discovered functionally and space wise the String shelving system was the perfect choice. It fitted exactly down to the millimeter on that wall and I now have a small office space where I can get things done. (The typewriter is obviously for display purposes.)

The tomado shelf I had before compared to this don’t have much of a visual difference but I can now sit, store Items, and display accessories in this area.

Additionally the brown colored cowhide that I found at IKEA replaced the kilim rug. The color and organic shape works well with the other furniture in the room.

My long journey to search for the perfect bedside lamp was ended up with these George Nelson wall sconces from Modernica. It gives warm and cozy light at night, I love it. Not only are they practical, but they also nicely fill that huge void on that wall.

My cat is definitely not camera shy. He seems to love it whenever I take pictures. Here he is grooming himself.

  1. Hi there, I just found your blog and will definitely be visiting again! I love the colors and patterns you use in your house. I have some String shelving in the exact same color combo and love them to bits. Great to see how you’re arranging yours!

  4. The string shelves look wonderful, and I love the cowhide. I saw those at IKEA the other day and wondered how they would actually look in a room. Everything looks perfectly put together.

  7. The bed is a Case Study Bed.

Would love to know where one can find the grey felt bedcover. I have the same bed and love the look!

  8. @ Bryan: The grey blanket is Pendleton’s washable blanket as same as this one; http://www.pendleton-usa.com/product/Home-Blankets/Blankets/SOLID-PATTERN-BLANKETS/ECO-WISE-WOOL-SOLID-EASY-CARE-BLANKET/166516/sc/1777/c/1821/pc/1816.uts

    I hope this helps!

  10. Beautiful combination. Have you published where you find all your items? I’d love to be able to search for similar pieces. Can I find a throw blanket or rug like that online, or do I need to take a vacation to Mexico and find a street fair? Also, where did you find the macrame? (And I love your cat).
