First of all I would like to apologize for not updating yesterday. It was a long day and I was too exhausted from the tour. But as promised here it is. Just to recap, there were a total of seven houses on the tour. The experience was definitely worthwhile as we had the opportunity to explore theses classic homes inside and out. I will be posting one house a day because there are just too many photos to post here all at once. For the first post, I would like to introduce the Mcalmon house:
This house is located on the hills of Los Feliz with a backyard that had a scenic mountain view to Silver Lake. By the window, there was a nice small dish collection and two Eames plywood lounge chairs. The bubble lamp at the corner in the living room was a nice touch to the space.
Along with the beautiful architecture and furniture, the owner of the McAlmon house had many beautiful collections of antiques. One thing in common about every home that I noticed is that the owners were all cat lovers and had something in their house that were related to cats.
From the top: cute wooden containers, wooden spoons, Lisa Larson’s pottery cats and Danish silver housewares.
According to the source “The owner also has a several pieces of original furniture, including the McAlmon chair. The owner, Larry Schaffer, of home furnishing store OK has been documenting his move over the summer into the house.” The house wasn’t huge, but the layout and design definitely took my breath away. As the first house of the tour, I must say that I was very satisfied.
to be continued…
