After almost two months of waiting, the patchy rug that I ordered last year has finally came. It felt really long because it was cold going through the Holiday season and New years without a rug. I can now enjoy my living room more where it feels much cozier. The rug actually came out more beige than I thought, because in the catalog it looked grey. Nevertheless, I’m happy with this result.

The mid century canoe / boomerang shaped dish is also a newer addition in this room. I love these classic California potteries.

Jonathan Adler’s horse tray used to be located at the entrance but now is re-arranged to my coffee table. My cats definitely love the new rug, because they smelt like rug for 3 days since the day it came.

Good choice on the rug! I really like the texture and pattern. I’m in love with that colorful Navajo-style blanket too. Is it new? If so, where can I get one of those beauties?
Actually, I’m looking to pick up a rug of my own right now. We’re down to a choice between two, but can’t decide. Come on over to midcenturymidwest.blogspot.come and give us a hand.
I love your coffee table!
Looks beautiful. It’s amazing how a rug can transform a room, especially when you’ve lived without one for so long. It’s like magic… a finished space. But really they’re never really finished are they? The plant looks great on the LTR.
Looks really nice. I’ve come to the decision that a rug may be the most important part of a room. We just got our second vintage wool rug from Pakistan and couldn’t be more stoked about how it ties things together:

@nick: Thanks Nick! It took a lot of time to decide on a rug but I’m ultimately happy with my choice. I visited your blog (nice blog btw) while both rugs are stunning, I’m personally attracted to the black and white one. I love the simplicity and the geometric shapes. The throw is actually from Pendleton. You can find them here: http://www.pendleton-usa.com.
@Kelly: Thank you! It was one of my favorite pieces as well and also the oldest I have.
@Stacey: I agree, it’s a great grounding element for the space. Thank you for your kind words, I wish I can remember the name of the plant.
@Esteban: Your home is amazing. You have a great collection, I’m so jealous
. Boomerang modern have some great stuff, if i get a chance I would love to stop by there as well.
The rug fits very well with the rest of the furniture, good choice.
Btw, the toys in the bookshelf on the left in the first pic are awesome! Are they the Alexander Girard Vitra Dolls?
Ciao.
…I meant on the right, sorry. lol
Thanks! And, yes, I should be more clear – the origin of the rug is Pakistan, but I got it from David at Boomerang
Looks great. Check out patchyrugs.com.au – right up your alley.
PLEASE tell me what the two wood pieces against your walls are. Especially the one that the white bowl is resting on. They look like they are custom, perhaps floating or are they midcentury credenzas? Am desperately looking for pieces like these. Thank you!!!
@midcentury home: yes they are:)
@Dave: Thanks for the tip!
@ Emily: The wooden piece against the wall on the right is George Nelson CSS and the floating cabinets are from Bludot.com. I got them because miraculously the width of my wall matched the width of the 3 cabinets exactly leaving only a half inch on each side
