Anniversary Give-A-Way

I can’t believe it’s almost been one year since I started Modern Findings and it can’t be where it is now without you guys. As my appreciation to you for reading, I decided to do a small giveaway. To win, all you have to do is leave a comment including your email (so we can contact you if you win) as well as a quick story about your favorite furniture piece. One winner will be picked from a drawing and will be announced on Monday August 30th.

The prize from top to bottom are: Eames 2008 Stamps, my favorite stationery company D-BROS‘s butterfly bookmarks & flower vase. I hope you  like it. Good luck and thank you for reading!

  1. Happy Blog-iversary! I would love to win these goodies (especially those rad stamps!). My favorite piece of furniture (in our own collection) is a mid-century, slim glass-fronted bookcase from my Grandma’s house. It somehow ended up holding antifreeze (and other bad things) in my parents’ garage, so I rescued it. My husband and I brought it back to its former glory and it now resides in our living room. =)

  2. Congrats on your 1 year! My favorite furniture that I own has got to be my Arco floor lamp. It’s simple and adds that extra oomph to my room. Keep up the good work!

  4. Congrats! I’d love to win this cute flower vase and awesome stamps! I just picked up a credenza at a local antique store few weeks ago. It actually reminds me of the dresser you guys posted before. It also has beautiful grains;)

  6. My favorite mid-century modern piece that I own is a fabulous bar/secretary. It’s had to have some work to get it going, though. It was so wobbly I had to put in some stabilizing pieces on the legs. It looks great because on top of the cabinet portion I put my collection of mid-century Las Vegas hotel ashtrays and inside I have a bottle of gin and early ’60′s vintage bar glasses that would fit perfectly in an episode of Mad Men (only $8 for the set from a great mod store in Nashville). –Happy Anniversary!

  8. We are just starting to collect pieces for our new home, which we are decorating with Mid-Century in mind. I just purchased an original brass and teak sunburst clock used and I just can’t wait to get it above our new mantel! It’s my fave piece so far.

  10. Happy anniversary! My favorite piece of furniture is the G-Plan credenza we just bought for our new house. We finally have a big ole spacious mid century to fill up, but the house just isn’t feeling like our house. Plus, we left all of our old furniture in the old house to stage it. We drove 5 hours each way for this credenza, cursing ourselves the whole time. But as soon as it got into the house, it made the house our home. It’s still the only piece of furniture, aside from our bed, and we (and the dogs) just love to stop and admire it’s graceful lines and dream of the day that the house is finished!

  11. Happy first !!! And here’s to many more to come !!!
My favourite furniture piece ? The 60′s Nathan Corinthian sideboard I bought this weekend. It cost an arm & a leg, or at least the kitchen repainting budget… But it is soooo worth it. For the first time in 5 years, my living room is really coming together – and that makes me very happy ! Probably more than a freshly repainted kitchen :-)
