Fire King Jadeite Collections
I’ve been collecting these beautiful Jadeite colored pieces for years. They are the most well-known and collected glass ware from Fire King that is a line from the Anchor Hocking Glass Company. They produced the pressed oven glass from the early 1940′s through the 1970′s. The picture above are lotus leaf bowl plates.
I use the Eames two tier shelf to display them, but because I have lots of Pyrex dishware as well, there aren’t any room left to get the other Fire Kings that I haven’t collected yet.
Jadeite table wares were often used at restaurants in the 1940′s to the 1960′s because of its durable materials . I’ve been using their restaurant mugs almost everyday. The Chili bowls are great for eating cereal, Jane Ray’s tea cup and saucers are a good accent on the table, and the Charm’s berry bowls are perfect for ice cream!

Wow I’m drooling! I just found out about this stuff. The funny thing is now that I see it I do remember my grandmother having this in her house and my grandfather owned a restaurant for a while and I’m sure he them! Oh, where did they go. What a shame.
I have fallen in love with the jadite charm. Do you know what was included in the original set? I’ve been trying to get a sense of the different plate sizes, but have not been able to see any pictures of them side by side. I think the salad plate is quite small
I’m looking at starting my purchases withmaybe the luncheon plate. I would love to see a picture of this plate with some salad on it since that’s what I will use them for. Seeing food on the plates gives me a better sense of how I can use it. People must have ate a lot less years ago! All the plates seem so much smaller than I’m used to.
